Speculation was circulating the internet today about Jay-Z buying out the rest of his contract with Def Jam Records for an alleged $5 million cool ones. Well, Sean has apparently made a slight deduction from his bank account and made himself an independent artist.
“Doug [Morris] and I spoke directly and had one of the most unique ‘negotiations’ ever, Doug won the toss, but we both won in the end. I thank him for allowing me to become a completely independent artist.”
Congrats to Jay. I can’t wait for that Blueprint 3 business to drop.
